The Universal Guitar Fret Slotter
At last, a fret slotting jig that Guitar Makers
have been waiting for. A Luthier's dream!
You can actually cut any scale
length on any finger board for a fretted instrument. Many products
are already available on the guitar suppliers market for cutting
accurate fret positions but not like the Universal Fret Slotter.
If you are a jobbing Luthier who gets a wide range
of commissions from guitars to banjos, then this is the guitar
tool for you.
Ever been frustrated with the existing fret slot
jig when you have to buy a new hole mounting plate for a one-off
job? You probably turned down the job because costs were prohibitive!
with the new Universal Fret Slotter you don't have to turn down
any more jobs. You'll never have to buy another hole plate again!
In fact, you can even make your own accurate hole plates with
the accessories available for the Universal Fret Slotter.
This is great - even if you only use a few standard
scale lengths - since, when your hole plates wear and you begin
to lose accuracy, or just make your own new ones, maintaining
high quality on your your fret positions.
Ever wanted to design your own scale lengths? Now
you can! From a small 12 inch mandolin to a mighty
35 inch scale length six string bass guitar. Literally any
scale length you can think of or invent in between! Ask your
guitar supplies merchant if they are stocking the new Universal
Fret Slotter or enquire direct to Necx
Products.

By
using the free fret calculator, a chart is generated to give
the positions. You choose the appropriate column; whether you
go from a zero fret or the nut.
The accuracy is astonishing: the device has the
ability to place the cutting blade well within 0.004
inch (0.1mm) of position. This is a great advantage to what already
exists on the market:
- You don’t need to purchase a new
hole plate every time you need a new scale length.
- You can offer your own fret slotting service to other Luthiers
- Accuracy is maintained because there is no hole plate wear
since the device needs no hole plates! Note: current hole plate
devices only offer 0.005 inch (0.127mm) positional accuracy.
- Not only can the slotter be used for cutting accurate finger
boards, it can also be used for cutting accurate, evenly spaced
linings for acoustic instruments.
- If you like using a hole plate system
because you’ve
got a production run to do, then a special hardened steel drill
bush and locator pin kit can be purchased so that you can drill
your own custom hole plates!
And the price? £290.00 sterling!
(Plus Post & Packing)
Hard to believe? This is how it works.
